What are the common causes of stainless steel mesh belt slippage?
1. The initial tension is too low. Insufficient tension at the point where the stainless steel mesh belt leaves the roller causes it to slip. This issue typically occurs during startup. To resolve it, adjust the tensioning device to increase the initial tension.
2. Too many damaged tail roller bearings that fail to rotate, or upper and lower idler bearings that no longer turn smoothly. The cause of this damage is excessive buildup of debris at the machine’s tail end, combined with delayed maintenance and failure to promptly inspect and replace components that are already broken or moving inflexibly—leading to increased resistance and subsequent slippage.
2. Insufficient friction between the drive roller and the stainless steel mesh belt causes slippage. This is often due to water on the stainless steel mesh belt or a humid environment. The solution is to apply some rosin powder onto the roller.
4. If the stainless steel mesh belt is overloaded beyond the motor's capacity, it will slip. Fortunately, this slippage actually helps protect the motor—otherwise, prolonged operation could lead to motor burnout. However, from a practical operational standpoint, slippage still constitutes a potential accident. To effectively address the issue of stainless steel mesh belt slippage, the first step is to identify the root cause, enabling you to implement targeted and effective solutions.
5. Starting too quickly can also cause slipping. In this case, you can start at a slower speed.
